Who are we?
Fichtner Consulting Engineers Ltd is a well-established, award winning and highly regarded technical consultancy and part of the worldwide Fichtner Group. We work with clients in the UK across the renewable energy, conventional power generation and waste sectors, providing design and engineering service solutions to financial institutions, developers and owner-operators. In the UK Fichtner employs 100 professionals and operate from our head office in the centre of Stockport, Cheshire. We are accredited by ‘Investors in People’ to Gold standard. In 2014 and 2017 we have been recognised by Best Companies as an ‘Outstanding Organisation’ and awarded 2 star status.
Each year, we look to recruit a number of student mechanical, aeronautical or chemical engineers through our graduate scheme. The graduate recruitment process starts in September of each year and closes as soon as the open positions are filled.

Successful applicants will join us each autumn and will be trained in an initial structured 24 month programme, on the job, by recognised leaders from within our industry. You will learn about the different aspects of capital project development and be encouraged to gain chartered status with the relevant engineering institutions as part of our accredited schemes. You will also be trained and become familiar with some of Fichtner’s in-house modelling tools and develop skills in external modelling tools such as ADMS, WRATE, KPRO and WINDPRO. You will liaise directly with our clients, contractors, operators and suppliers as necessary.
