Nearly 15 years.
Via a recruitment consultant, who passed my CV onto Fichtner. I was invited back for a second interview and I was offered the position of Project Engineer.
I am the Business Development Director and have the responsibility to lead all of the organisation’s sales and marketing activities. I am also responsible for the future strategy of the company, and the achievement of our 2 and 5 year strategies. I lead a team of specialist engineers and professionals, covering all of the key business sectors that Fichtner operates in.
Our team. As a pure consultancy, our only asset is our people. This therefore creates a culture in which we all work together to deliver our services to our clients.
By choice, we aim to work in the most challenging sectors, and deliver a level of service to our clients which exceeds our competitors. Also by choice Fichtner operates out of a single office to ensure learnings and professional relationships are constantly enhanced. We also have a very flat management structure which aims to allow our team to do what they do best, every day; avoiding overly onerous management. Our aim is to support and trust our staff to ensure they work in an innovative and free manner.
The best Business Development Project I have worked on was our ’10 by 12’ strategy which we started in 2010. The aim of the strategy was to win 10 Owner’s Engineer roles on thermal power plants by the end of 2012. We achieved our strategy, and in doing so, made Fichtner the market leader in the waste and biomass sectors.
Be yourself, and come and visit us. If you like what you see, and want a challenging and engaging career, Fichtner could be the place for you!
On the basis of a bet made in the pub with work colleagues, I successfully completed the Etape du Tour and cycled up the ‘Giant of Provence’, Mont Ventoux. After a short and successful cycling career, I decided to retire!
