Protos ERF Secures Environmental Permit in Major Milestone

We extend our congratulations to ECYCLIS on their significant achievement of securing an environmental permit for their proposed carbon capture facility at the Protos ERF in Cheshire. This marks the first major carbon capture scheme in the waste sector to reach this crucial milestone, indicating a substantial advancement in decarbonising the industry.

Our team at Fichtner has had the privilege of supporting Encyclis throughout this process, and we acknowledge the commitment and dedication they have shown towards this endeavor.

Once operational, the carbon capture facility is projected to enable the permanent storage of approximately 350,000 tonnes of CO2 emissions annually from the ERF. This represents a significant step forward in the UK’s efforts to achieve its net zero targets. Moreover, it holds the potential to become a cornerstone of the country’s carbon capture efforts.

This project is a major development in sustainable waste management. It’s paving the way for a more sustainable future, and we are optimistic about the positive impact this will have moving forward.

We commend everyone who has been involved so far. Your hard work and dedication have contributed to this success. We look forward to continuing our support to Encyclis in the delivery of this ambitious project.
