INWED 2025

International Women in Engineering Day (INWED) is a global awareness campaign celebrated every year on June 23. It honours the contributions and achievements of women engineers. INWED serves as a vital platform to highlight the presence of women in engineering and spotlight the incredible career opportunities available to girls and women in this dynamic field. The theme for 2025, “Together We Engineer,” underscores the essential role of collaboration and diversity in fostering innovation and progress.

This year, we’re honouring INWED by featuring some defining career moments of three of our exceptional engineers: Lead Consultant, Áine Greene, Environmental Scientist, Alice M., and Consultant, Natalie Porter, each of whom is making a significant impact both in their fields and in the energy transition journey of the UK and Ireland:

Engineering offers a plethora of rewarding career paths, especially in the rapidly evolving energy sector. From renewable energy technologies to sustainable infrastructure development, engineers are at the forefront of creating solutions for a better world. If you are passionate about problem-solving, innovation, and making a tangible impact, engineering in the energy sector might just be the perfect fit for you.

The theme “Together We Engineer” highlights the importance of collaboration and diversity in the field. Diverse teams bring a wider range of perspectives and experiences, leading to more creative and effective solutions. By fostering an inclusive environment, we can unlock the full potential of all engineers and drive innovation forward. Let’s continue to support and uplift women in engineering, creating opportunities for them to thrive and lead in the energy transition.

This International Women in Engineering Day, let’s celebrate the remarkable achievements of women in engineering and reaffirm our commitment to creating a more diverse, equitable, and innovative engineering community. Together, we can engineer a better future for all, especially in the vital energy sector.
