Who are we?

Fichtner is a global engineering consultancy with a strong history in hydropower, working on over 500 global hydropower projects with a total capacity of almost 70 GW. We are currently increasing our support to the development of several pumped storage hydropower projects in the UK of up to c. 2 GW in capacity and are looking for an experienced project manager to join our hydropower team and provide a pivotal role in supporting clients develop and implement their projects

What we are looking for:

  • Good engineering degree in a relevant discipline
  • Chartered engineer status (or actively working towards)
  • Relevant experience in the engineering, project development, and/or construction of hydropower, pumped storage, water management, mining, or tunnelling projects
  • Experienced Project Manager and the ability to work effectively leading a multi-disciplinary project team
  • Exposure to relevant UK and/or European and/or international engineering standards
  • Experience with standard forms of contract e.g. FIDIC, NEC
  • Effective communication skills; and
  • A full driving licence and own vehicle
