Fichtner is global engineering consultancy established in 1922 with over 2000 employees over 170 countries. Within the UK and Ireland our engineers and consultants are involved in some of the most innovative energy projects across the UK providing design, intellectual, and engineering services to developers, investors, owners, and operators. We have over 185 employees that we are proud to have represent us, operating from our offices in Manchester, Belfast, Dublin, and Glasgow. As the business grows from strength to strength, we are now looking to further extend our team by recruiting an Occupational Health & Safety Advisor to be an integral part of our wider construction and engineering teams. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in providing occupational health, safety, and welfare advice and guidance, both internally and to our clients. The role involves direct communication with clients, contractors, employees, and plant operators as needed.

What we are looking for:

  • NEBOSH Level 6 National Diploma
  • A certified member of IOSH, working towards Chartered membership
  • ISO45001 Lead Auditor certified with practical construction-based audit experience
  • 3-day First Aid Certification; A recognised wellbeing certification
  • Have good working knowledge of UK OH&S regulations and guidance
  • An excellent understanding of current health, safety and welfare issues
  • Excellent working knowledge of either power generation, process or renewable energy sectors and the dynamic nature of risk and its management
  • Proven track record of operating in and continually updating a positive health and safety culture
  • Support on health and safety for our offices in England, Scotland, and Ireland
  • Promote health and safety services to our client base, in conjunction with the Business Development team
  • Up to date working knowledge of the CDM 2015 Regulations (including Principal Contractor role)
