We were engaged by Macquarie to undertake technical due diligence in connection with two offshore transmission assets recently released to market under Tender Round 3 (TR3) of the enduring regime, Westermost Rough and Humber Gateway. The technical and environmental due diligence covers all aspects of the OFTO assets including the offshore substation structure and platform topside, offshore export cable and the onshore grid connection through to interface point with National Grid at the offshore substation.
Fichtner’s role involved detailed technical analysis of O&M costs and risks including;
- cable reburial assessment;
- seabed mobility risk;
- availability target achievability and;
- equipment service life.
Our work on the TR3 OFTO projects has provided an excellent opportunity to provide an international team of experts from various offices across Europe, pooling the considerable skills and resources which exist within Fichtner. The two projects have a combined value approaching £400m, and were the first to be tendered under the enduring regime.
