The power project involved 5 sites, each consisting of 3 containerised gas engine reciprocating plants with an electrical output of 2 MW. The sites are unmanned, and have been developed to operate in the energy peaking market.

The sites are brown field development generally located within the existing industrial estates and housed within existing commercial buildings across the following areas:

  • Prestige House, Blackpool
  • Newhouse, Accrington
  • Clay Flatts, Workington
  • Aldon Rd, Blackpool and
  • Broadway, Hyde

Fichtner supported the project by providing due diligence and technical support across all of the sites. The full scope of our role included:

  • Red flag due diligence of site identifying key risk to the project
  • Development of technical specifications and contract documentation
  • Management of interfaces between the gas connection, EPC contract and grid connections
  • Chairing monthly progress meeting
  • Assessing claims and variations
  • Monitoring project programme
