Runcorn TPS has a capacity to produce 83.8 MWe and 54 MWth for the adjacent Ineos Chlor manufacturing complex. The facility produces steam and power for export. The combined Runcorn plant will have a total capacity to treat up to 850,000 tonnes of waste per annum.
As Lenders Technical Adviser at the Runcorn TPS, we provided due diligence through to financial close and continued technical advice through construction and commissioning. As Owner’s Engineer and CDMC through both phases of construction our role included;
- full time site supervision;
- certification of payments;
- design review;
- attendance of FATs;
- QA services
With the capacity to process 750,000 tonnes per annum of prepared waste derived fuel, the Runcorn TPS is the UKs largest and most efficient EfW plant, and provides both heat and power to Ineos Chlor to support its production of chlorine on the site.
